Titan

Abstract:

Titan is an enigmatic satellite in many ways. This talk will review what we know or think we know about this moon of Saturn. After a general overview of the satellite's properties we will turn our attention to the internal structure and the constraints on which the internal models are based. New studies of the radio doppler signals from Cassini flybys of Titan suggest that the moon's gravitational field and inferred moment of inertia are not known with confidence so that Titan might be less differentiated than previously thought. It might even be a largely undifferentiated sphere of ice and rock.
